About the Founder of Inspiration Unlimited
Sheree Stomberg
Two days after retiring from her role as a global business leader at Citi, where she successfully led and inspired more than 100,000 people, Sheree Stomberg joined an expedition of men half her age to climb a mountain adjacent to Mt. Everest. At 68, after training at Everest Base Camp, she successfully reached the 20,000 foot mark. She proved that vitality, resilience, and purpose know no boundaries.
That climb further fueled her long-held vision: to design a purposeful "fourth quarter" of life that inspires others at any age to dream boldly, set meaningful goals, and take action toward living with joy and vitality.
Sheree's sense of purpose had already expanded far beyond adventure, family and her career in financial services. It happened when she saw a young boy dying from hunger between two skyscrapers in Mumbai. That single moment led her to dedicate part of her life to playing a meaningful role in eradicating world hunger. In the 20 years since, she has been deeply involved in The Hunger Project, an organization committed to creating a world without hunger that reaches 17 million people in 15,000 communities in 22 countries. The Hunger Project realizes this vision through a three pillar approach: Start with women, mobilize communities, and engage local government. Sheree is currently serving as Chair of the Global Board of Directors.
To advocate for women in a corporate setting, Sheree co-founded The Women's Council at Citi. She inspired her female colleagues to champion their own growth and sense of purpose. Through the establishment of this network, Sheree successfully created community, leadership pathways, and visibility for women in the workplace.
